PT Innovasi Diagnostika (Innodia) together with Prodia is present in the Newborn Screening (NBS) Week Campaign 2026 series, a national campaign that serves as a momentum to increase public awareness while strengthening the implementation of the Newborn Screening program in Indonesia.

Embracing the spirit of collaboration to improve the quality of healthcare services, Innodia's collaboration with Prodia demonstrates support for education and strengthening the newborn screening ecosystem. The 2026 NBS Week Campaign will be held on August 1–2, 2026, at the Aryaduta Hotel in Jakarta, coinciding with International Neonatal Screening Day.

The Newborn Screening program plays a crucial role in detecting a number of health conditions early in life. As it has evolved, the NBS program in Indonesia no longer focuses solely on the detection process but also focuses on managing test results and providing follow-up care for infants identified as requiring further attention.

The 2026 NBS Week Campaign serves as a momentum to strengthen education for parents, the public, and healthcare workers about the importance of newborn screening. This campaign also encourages strengthening the tracking or recall system , so that the screening process can be continued with appropriate follow-up.

In the activity proposal, the targets of the NBS Week Campaign include the public and parents, doctors, midwives, nurses, medical laboratory technologists, as well as health services and screening program managers in various regions of Indonesia.

The 2026 NBS Week Campaign is packaged through various activities that combine elements of public education, capacity building for health workers, and scientific forums.

On the first day, August 1, 2026, the NBS Fun Walk 2026 will feature a series of activities, starting from Aryaduta Menteng to several points such as the Farmer's Monument and the National Monument (Monas), then returning to Aryaduta Menteng. In addition to the Fun Walk, participants will also be able to participate in health education booths, enjoy entertainment, a photo booth, culinary experiences, and various other supporting activities.

This activity is part of a more hands-on public education approach. The NBS campaign itself is designed to convey information about newborn screening through various interactive, easy-to-understand channels and activities, actively engaging the community.

On August 2, 2026, the Newborn Screening Workshop continued, specifically addressing the pre-analytical aspects of the SBBL examination. The workshop was designed to improve the capacity of healthcare workers, from understanding the screening concept, examination procedures, handling Dried Blood Spot (DBS) specimens , to discussing specimen quality and various challenges in the field.

The workshop agenda also includes materials on pre-analytical SBBL samples, post-screening traceability management, quality of disposable medical materials (BMHP), sampling techniques, and sampling technique practices.

As the culmination of the series of activities, the National Symposium on Newborn Screening presented scientific discussions from various fields. Topics covered included challenges and solutions for implementing newborn screening programs in Indonesia, Congenital Adrenal Hyperplasia (CAH) Screening, screening for critical congenital heart disease, biliary atresia, filter paper quality, developments in screening technology, and special conditions in the implementation of SBBL.

Innodia and Prodia Partner to Support Collaboration for Children's Health

As part of the laboratory and health services ecosystem, Innodia and Prodia participated in the 2026 NBS Week Campaign to support strengthening education and collaboration in the field of newborn screening.

This presence provides an opportunity to interact with various health stakeholders involved in the implementation of NBS, while strengthening collaborative relationships with health workers and professional organizations.

Support for activities such as the NBS Week Campaign aligns with the importance of synergy between healthcare institutions, professional organizations, the government, and relevant partners in improving the quality of newborn screening services. The activity proposal also emphasizes that successful NBS implementation requires support and synergy from various parties to achieve improvements in the health of Indonesian children.

For Innodia, involvement in this activity also demonstrates its commitment to continuously supporting the development of the laboratory ecosystem and healthcare services in Indonesia. Meanwhile, the collaboration with Prodia reinforces the spirit of collaboration in providing support for various initiatives aimed at improving public health.

From Screening to Follow-up

One of the key messages highlighted in the 2026 NBS Week Campaign is that screening is not the end of the process. The focus of NBS implementation in 2026 will be on increasing attention to screening results, including ensuring that babies identified as positive have access to treatment and ongoing follow-up.

Therefore, increasing public awareness is integral to the program's success. Parents need to understand the benefits of early screening, while healthcare workers need adequate competency to provide education, perform specimen collection correctly, and support follow-up.

Through a series of activities combining public campaigns, workshops, and scientific symposiums, the 2026 NBS Week Campaign is expected to broaden public understanding while strengthening the competence of health workers in supporting the implementation of newborn screening.

For Innodia and Prodia, their presence at this event demonstrates their support for the collaborative movement to raise awareness about the importance of early detection and encourage the creation of increasingly high-quality healthcare services for Indonesia's future generations.
